Title slide
In a presentation program like Microsoft PowerPoint, a title slide is the first slide in a presentation or slide deck. As the name implies, the title slide includes the title or subject of the presentation. It may include a subtitle or brief description of the presentation's content. While including a title slide is not required, we recommend including one as it helps viewers know what to expect from the presentation. Below is an example of how a title slide may appear.
A title slide may include other content, depending on the preferences of the presentation author or standards defined by the business that the presentation represents. Optional content includes the following:
- Name of the presentation author.
- Name of business represented in the presentation.
- Date the presentation was developed.
- Business logo.
Some people and businesses also like to include a background color, design, or image on all their presentation slides, including the title slide. Presentation programs often include some background templates, or a custom one may be used. Having a background on all slides helps make a presentation more visually appealing. For businesses, backgrounds may include branding content for marketing purposes, too.
