Toggle
A toggle may refer to any of the following:
1. Toggle describes switching back and forth between settings or programs. For example, a user may toggle between Microsoft Excel and the Windows calculator while working.
In Microsoft Windows, you can use the keyboard shortcut Alt+Tab to toggle between programs without using the mouse.
2. With a button or switch, a toggle button or toggle switch is a physical button or button found in software that turns on or off a device or feature. For example, you may toggle the Wi-Fi option on your smartphone from disabled to enabled. The picture demonstrates the software version of this button and shows when slid to the right, it's considered "on," and when to the left, it's considered "off."
When describing a physical switch found on a computer or other device, the toggle switch is also often called a rocker switch.
