Traffic
Alternatively called network traffic, traffic describes all data communications on a computer or computer network. During high traffic periods a computer or computer network may slow down and become congested if not adequate for the load. Sometimes, too much traffic may prevent a computer or network device from operating.
The traffic on a network can be monitored by collecting the response times of all major access points (e.g., routers and servers), on a network. Longer response times is an indication of how much load is being experienced by that device.
How is traffic monitored?
A domain or website can use a service like Google Analytics to monitor and keep record of their website traffic.
