Ultra-light computer
Updated: 10/17/2017 by Computer Hope
Another term for a portable computer that can be transported from place to place. An ultra-light computer weighs between 2 pounds and 8 pounds, can fit in a briefcase, and is powered by a battery or a transformer pack. Early ultra light computers used a RAM disk instead of a hard drive or diskette drive.
Tip
Because all laptop computers are so light today (less than 10 pounds), the term ultra light computer is rarely describing a laptop computer.
