Undervoltage
Updated: 07/06/2021 by Computer Hope
Alternatively known as undervolting, undervoltage is a reduction of power to one or more devices in a computer to help conserve power and reduce heat. For example, a laptop user could undervolt their computer processor and notice a reduction of heat and an increase of battery life.
To adjust your processor voltage, you can use CPU (central processing unit) utilities, such as the RightMark CPU Clock utility.
Note
An undervoltage should not be confused with a voltage drop (brown out). An undervoltage is often defined when the power is more than five percent lower than the normal volts.
