VCID
Updated: 03/05/2023 by Computer Hope
Short for virtual circuit identifier, VCID is the numeric label that differentiates virtual circuits on telecommunication networks. A VCID consists of 12 to 16 digits that are contained in the header of an ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) cell. They are useful in that they allow one channel to be used by multiple networks; they facilitate concurrent connections.
