Video buffer

Also called a regeneration buffer, a video buffer is a storage location for holding information prepared by a GPU (graphics processing unit) before sending it to a display device. Much like the buffering systems on YouTube, the video buffer functions as a temporary "waiting area" for media to ensure smooth playback when it's ready to be consumed.
While similar to both video memory and system cache, a video buffer is not the same and is in a distinctly separate location. Some computer BIOS setups allow the user to enable or disable the video buffer. When enabled, this feature caches the video BIOS (address C0000h to C7FFFh).
