Virtual real mode

Alternatively called V86 or 8086 mode, virtual real mode allows Intel 386 and later processors to contain a real mode 16-bit environment within protected mode. An example of virtual real mode is when a user opens a Windows command line window in Microsoft Windows 98.
Note
When running in virtual real mode, the computer can only access up to only 1 MB of memory.
