Voice coil

A voice coil may refer to any of the following:

1. In computer hardware, a voice coil is a motor used to move the access arm within a hard drive.

Note

An SSD (solid-state drive) has no moving parts or motors.

2. With some audio speakers, a voice coil is an internal speaker wire for adjusting the audio intensity by moving the speaker's cone with a magnetic field.
