White hat
A white hat may refer to any of the following:
1. A white hat is an ethical hacker who attempts to find vulnerabilities in computers and network systems by identifying security weaknesses and informing the appropriate personnel. These individuals are employed by companies and governments, usually to protect the organization's information systems from malicious black hats.
Today, many white hat hackers report and make money from bug bounties.
2. With SEO (search engine optimization), a white hat SEO is someone who attempts to promote a website on search engines such as Google while adhering to the search engine rules completely. A white hat SEO does not participate in any bad SEO tactics like a black hat SEO.
