Wiki
Updated: 12/31/2022 by Computer Hope
An open editing database allowing anyone to add and update information, the first wiki was created in 1995 for the Portland Pattern Repository by Howard G. Cunningham. Wikis are known to be simple online databases where the community decides what information is relevant for each page or definition. Great examples of a wiki's work are Wikipedia, Wikibooks, and EOL (Encyclopedia of Life).
Note
Wiki means "quick" in Hawaiian and repeating the word changes its meaning to "very quick."
