Win image
Win image may refer to any of the following:
1. A Windows image or Win image is a byte-for-byte copy (called an "image") of a file created by Windows. The image file can be mounted as a disk drive in the Windows operating system. Historically, these "images" were used for disc cloning or backup of data stored on floppy disks. Presently, a Windows image is usually created in the form of an ISO file.
2. WinImage is a program to create, read, and edit Windows image files. Using the FileDisk driver (freeware program), WinImage can also mount ISO images to a hard disk. WinImage is compatible with multiple image file formats, including ISO, VHD (virtual hard disk), DMF (distribution media format), IMA, IMZ, and CUE (Cue sheet). It works on several file system types, including FAT (file allocation table), FAT32, and NTFS (NTFS file system).
