Microsoft Windows HTTP (hypertext transfer protocol) Services, also called WinHTTP, is an interface to the HTTP/1.1 Internet protocol for developers and applications that interact with HTTP servers. On Windows Vista, 7, and 8, WinHTTP allows developers to incorporate the ability to send and receive HTTP requests into applications. These requests be done using a Win32 API (application programming interface) and COM automation component.
