Zoned recording

Alternatively called ZBR (zone bit recording), zoned recording is a method of increasing available hard drive space by increasing the amount of sectors per track. By increasing the sectors per track, ZBR allows the outer tracks to have more sectors than inner tracks. In the past, a hard drive had the same amount of sectors on each of its tracks.
