Accounting may refer to any of the following:

1. Accounting is recording, managing, and processing economic and financial activity, most commonly for a business or corporation.

2. With a spreadsheet, accounting is a formatting method that displays numbers and monetary values in a way that makes them easier to read. For example, it lines up the currency symbols and decimal points in the cell and puts negative numbers in parentheses.
