Founded in 1985, Exabyte developed and manufactured tape drives, the 8mm tape drive, and other magnetic tape data solutions.
In August 2006, Tandberg Data acquired Exabyte. Now known as Overland Tandberg, the company continues to sell Exabyte's tape storage products.
