Exit is a command or option used to close a program or file. The method of exiting from a program or file varies depending on the computer or program used.
Pictured is an example of a file menu in Microsoft Excel and an Exit option to close the program. To exit most Windows and GUI (graphical user interface) programs, select "Exit" or "Close" from the file menu. Alternatively, click the close button in the top-right or top-left corner of the program window.
