High-persistence phosphor

Updated: 04/26/2017 by Computer Hope

A high-persistence phosphor is a neon phosphor used in monitors to help the monitor illuminate longer, thus lowering refresh rates and reducing the flicker effect. With early monitors, this phosphor caused bad animation of moving objects, such as a mouse cursor, which often had a noticeable trail as it moved.
