MiniSD is a flash memory card designed for use primarily with cell phones, but they found use in other devices that supported the miniSD standard. Adopted by the SDA (SD Card Association) in 2003, miniSD was introduced to the market by SanDisk in March 2003, at CeBIT, a large computer expo held annually in Hanover, Germany.

Most miniSD cards were packaged with an adapter that allows the card to be used with devices that only support SD cards. MiniSD cards are available in storage sizes ranging from 128 MB to 4 GB, and they have a physical size of 21.5 × 20 × 1.4 mm.
