Nonconductor

Updated: 12/31/2022 by Computer Hope

Material that does not transmit electrical currents, heat, or sound, or transmits it poorly. Some examples of nonconductors are rubber, plastic, and diamond. An insulator could be considered a nonconductor.

The opposite of a nonconductor is a conductor, and between the two is a semiconductor.
