Page view
A page view may refer to any of the following:
1. With Internet advertising, a page view is a unique load or view of a text-based file, such as an HTML (hypertext markup language) file. When looking at your website's statistics, a page view better represents how many unique people are coming to your website. If your statistics list hits and page views, your hits are much greater than your total page views. For example, Computer Hope averages around 7 million unique page views but averages nearly 50 million hits.
To quantify and analyze your page views, we recommend using Google Analytics.
2. Page view or document view is a view setting in a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, or another program. See our view buttons definition for further information and examples on this term.
