Pull

Pull may refer to any of the following:

1. In general, pull is moving something towards yourself. For example, when sitting at a computer, you may pull the keyboard closer to you to type.

2. With Git, pull describes downloading the files in a remote repository to your local Git repository. In contrast, you would push when you're ready to send your updates.

3. In an MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game), players may fight against creatures in the game to be rewarded with currency or items from the defeated creature. A player is said to pull the creature when they begin attacking. They are, in essence, "pulling" the creature to them to attack the creature at a closer distance. Pulling is done so creatures focus their attacks on one player, often a tank, who can take damage. Healers in the group can then focus their healing without getting attacked while everyone else in the group assists in killing the pulled creatures. Handling the enemies properly is known as CC (crowd control).
