Originally founded as Visioneer in March 1992, Nuance is a developer of programs, such as OmniPage and Dragon Dictate. Nuance develops other programs utilizing speech recognition and OCR, for creating and processing documents.
On October 18, 2005, ScanSoft was acquired by and renamed to Nuance.
