Founded in January 2011, by Eric Frenkiel, Adam Prout, and Nikita Shamgunov, Singlestore specializes in RDBMS database development and hosting. Their flagship product, the SingleStore database, provides customers with data management, maintenance, and analytics in one package. SingleStore offers their database product as a SaaS solution, or a standalone solution that customers can install in their environment for on-premise hosting. Their users include Fanatics, Kellogg's, Pinterest, and Uber.
SingleStore launched their first database product, named MemSQL, in April 2013. SingleStore renamed their MemSQL product to SingleStore in October 2020.
