Upcycle

The term upcycle refers to the creative re-use of an existing item. The difference between recycling and upcycling is, recycling is breaking down waste and melding it into a different product altogether. Upcycling uses an existing item that is often thrown away or recycled and using it for a different, sometimes better function.
For example, you can upcycle a tailgate from an old truck to make a table or bench. Another example of upcycling is using an old CRT (cathode ray tube) monitor to make a fish tank.
