Videoconferencing

Alternatively called video conference or videoteleconference, videoconferencing or VC is the communication of two or more parties in real time using networked video and audio. Videoconferencing uses computer software and hardware (usually a microphone and webcam), or another device capable of transmitting both signals, such as a videophone. Today, videoconferencing is commonly used in business and professional communication, and educational instruction.

Videoconferencing history

An early form of videoconferencing was used for the first time by the Germans in the late 1930s. Videoconferencing as we know it today came to be in the United States in the early 1970s, developed by AT&T.
