Voicemail
Updated: 11/16/2019 by Computer Hope
Alternatively called VM, vmail, or VMS (voicemail system), voicemail is an automated phone system similar to an answering machine that digitally records spoken messages. These recordings can then be listened to via smartphone, landline, and from the Internet.
How does it work?
To listen to a message, the user calls the voicemail system's telephone number, and enters an access code. Or, they visit a website and log in with a username and password. Once authenticated, the user is allowed to choose from various options, such as retrieving voice recordings, changing their pre-recorded greeting message, and changing other similar settings.
