CCITT is an organization that sets international communication standards. The acronym CCITT is short for the French Comité Consultatif International du Télégraphe et Téléphone. (In English, "International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee.") The organization is now known as the ITU (International Telecommunication Union). The CCITT ceased to exist as of February 28, 1993. See our ITU page for further information and each of the V recommendations for modems.
