DOS protected mode interface

Abbreviated as DPMI, DOS protected mode interface is an interface for DOS programs running in Windows 3.x that maintains system protection. DPMI supports multitasking by sharing a portion of the system's extended memory, using portions beyond the 640 KB limit.
