Electromagnetic spectrum

Sometimes called the EM spectrum, the electromagnetic spectrum is the range of wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation. Each variety of radiation has its own frequency, thus giving it its own "signature." These waves include radio, micro, infrared, visible, ultraviolet, x-rays, and gamma-rays. For example, a radio wave is used to send signals to devices such as an AM Radio to listen to a broadcast or music.
