Screen resolution comparison.

FHD (Full High Definition), also known as Full HD, is a standard used to denote that a display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Many consumers are more familiar with the term 1080p, used with HDTVs for many years.

While the technology advances with higher pixel densities, FHD displays are still prevalent on smaller televisions, computer monitors, and mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets. FHD is also the standard for Blu-ray players and most projectors.

Note

While the terms are used interchangeably, HD refers to 720p, and is not the same as FHD at 1080p.
