High Dynamic Range
Updated: 12/20/2017 by Computer Hope
Alternatively referred called HDR, High Dynamic Range is a technology that, as the name would imply, increases the range of a TV or computer monitor's color and contrast. HDR increases the distance between the darkest blacks and the lightest whites and depth of color. Essentially, it makes the images displayed have more "pop," they're more vivid and realistic looking.
