Founded in 1997, Mediatek is a Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company that designs chips for wireless communications, mobile devices, televisions, multimedia products, and optical disc drives.
MediaTek is headquartered in Hsinchu, Taiwan, and has 25 offices worldwide. The company was the third-largest fabless chip designer worldwide in 2016, and became the biggest smartphone chipset vendor with a 31% market share in Q3 2020.
