Offset may refer to any of the following:
1. In computer science, offset describes the location of a piece of data compared to another location. For example, when a program is accessing an array of bytes, the fifth byte is offset by four bytes from the array's beginning. If the array contains data that is read 32 bits at a time, element n would be offset from the start of the array by 4 * (n - 1) bytes.
2. With Adobe Photoshop, Offset is the name of a filter. See our Photoshop Offset page for further information on this term.
