RRAS

Short for routing and remote access service, RRAS is an API (application programming interface) that allows users to build applications that utilize the routing and remote access service capabilities of Windows.
RRAS was designed by Microsoft and released with Windows 2000. It was later made available for Windows NT 4.0 via a download. Using RRAS, a server could be set up to be a multi-protocol router, a dial-on-demand router, and a remote access server. Previously, routing and remote access services worked separately, but with the advent of RRAS and PPP (point-to-point protocol), these two services could be combined.
