Unit 8200

Unit 8200, also known as Central Collection Unit of the Intelligence Corps, is a unit in the Israeli Intelligence Corps located in Tel Aviv, Israel. It collects SIGINT (signal interrupt or Signals Intelligence), performs encryption analysis and code breaking, and conducts cyber warfare operations. It was founded in 1952 with help from the United States government, and is the largest unit in the Israeli Defense Forces.
Unit 8200 is also renowned as a training ground for some of the world's greatest computer scientists and tech visionaries. In 2016, Forbes magazine called Unit 8200 "Israel's secret startup machine."
