A virtual image may refer to any of the following:
1. With a file, a virtual image contains the location and information of files being written to a medium such as a CD-R (compact disc recordable) disc.
2. With graphic or a screen, a virtual image is an image larger than what's shown on the screen. The image is stored in memory and can be viewed by scrolling in any direction or zooming out to see the complete image.
