DMCA may refer to any of the following:

1. Short for Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the DMCA is an addition added to the U.S. Copyright law on October 28, 1998, that makes it illegal to circumvent any copy protection. For example, the DMCA prohibits bypassing the copy protection on a DVD (digital versatile disc) to make copies of that DVD, even if you own the DVD.
