A rugged PC, or ruggedized computer, is a laptop, tablet, or PDA (personal digital assistant) designed for work in environments not found in a normal office setting. Rugged PCs are generally for use in windy, damp, or dusty environments. These machines are utilized by the military, public safety, farmers, and in other outdoor related fields. The computers are designed and built to withstand harsh conditions to ensure the cases and inner components are not damaged.
