LGPL

The GNU Lesser General Public License, also known as the LGPL, is a more permissive version of the GPL (GNU General Public License). It's a software license published by the Free Software Foundation.

If open-source software is licensed under the LGPL (Lesser General Public License), other software developers may use it for their software development projects — even if their projects are closed-source or otherwise proprietary or commercial in nature. The LGPL was developed as a compromise between the stricter copyleft terms of the GPL and the more permissive BSD (Berkeley Software Distribution) and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) licenses.
