Nano
Nano may refer to any of the following:
1. A terminal-based text editor for Linux. nano is the GNU (GNU's Not Unix) version of the classic text editor, pico. On Debian and Ubuntu systems, nano can be installed with the command:
sudo apt-get install nano
For information about using nano, see our documentation for pico. The two programs ar e functionally identical, and can be used interchangeably.
2. A scientific prefix, nano- (n) represents 0.000,000,001 (one-billionth, or 10 to the -9th power). For instance, a nanometer is one billion times shorter than one meter, and a second is a billion times longer than a nanosecond.
What is smaller than a nano?
With SI prefixes, pico is smaller than nano.
What is larger than a nano?
With SI prefixes, micro is larger than nano.
What is nano's non-decimal equivalent?
A giga (G) is the prefix used for 109.
3. Nano is a shorter name for the iPod Nano.
